ABOUT US
Florida Dive Training is the dream creation of David Cowan. David was born February 1954 in upstate New York and attended public school there. He is a former active duty Marine having served in the corps from 1974 until 1979. David attended the University of Colorado at Denver finishing his Bachelors degree in 1988. He discovered scuba diving in the Bahamas in 1991 and has been diving and enjoying sharing the sport since then. David is a TDI/SDI (Technical Diving International/Scuba Diving International) Instructor Trainer teaching all courses from entry level through Open Water and on to entry level technical diving on the Instructor level, along with twenty-one specialty ratings for PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors,) IANTD (International Association of Nitrox and Technical Divers,) SDI and TDI. David is a certified by the NSS/CDS (National Speleological Society/Cave Diving Section) and NACD (National Association for Cave Diving) as a Full Cave diver. He teaches Basic Life Support and CPR as a PADI Medic First Aid Instructor along with Oxygen First Aid for Scuba Diving Injuries and Aquatic Marine Injuries for Diver's Alert Network. Additionally, he is certified as an Instructor Trainer for Basic Nitrox through Technical Decompression Procedures for TDI and Basic Nitrox, Deep Air and Advanced Nitrox for IANTD. To round things out David teaches Nitrox Blending for IANTD and TDI on the instructor and technician levels. Also available are courses for Tri-mix blending and Oxygen Service Technician. The TDI Oxygen Service Technician course teaches the procedures for preparing equipment for oxygen service. Perhaps most important thing David offers is a commitment to quality instruction with emphasis on dive safety and fun. | |||||||||||||||||
